A vibrant, town centre multi cultural resource specifically for girls and women
We offer:

• Sessions about personal recovery and learning to cope skills
• Basic skills and skills for life eg Maths, English and IT skills
• Personal development – confidence building eg ‘Boost Your Self Esteem Training’
• Accredited learning opportunities
• Employability skills and social enterprise
• English as a second language
• Volunteering opportunities
Our Reception Information Centre is open from 9.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday. When girls and women come into the centre they can get information and advice on Platform 51 and local services. The Information Worker is available to support women in crisis, for example if they have suffered domestic violence, if they are homeless or if they need to know their welfare rights.
The centre has four ‘projects’ that run programmes for:
• Girls who are not in education or have dropped out (NEET)
• Women from black and ethnic minority backgrounds or who may be refugees, asylum seekers, gypsies or travellers
• Women who have offended or at risk of offending
• Women with a learning disability
• Young mums and mums-to-be
• Women with mental health problems
Y's Choice Community Cafe
Our low cost cafe, which promotes nutritious healthy food and healthy eating is a place for women to make friends and interact informally. Open Monday - Friday 8.30am - 2.00pm. Open to general public.
